Wines. Consumed. Enjoyed. Reviewed.
It's a lot of work, but someone has to do it.

This was created by metro Detroiters who love moments with friends & family, sharing tales of travel, food, connection and novel experiences. All that is often made even better over wine & cheese- or dinner- especially when some of the wine or dinner fixins' are homemade!

Having contributed at a couple of global wine-review sites, and getting generous feedback regarding the "novellas" we were leaving as tasting notes, we wanted to create this as more of a homegrown page, a place for us Metro Detroiters to "gather" and discuss- electronically- (but also breaking actual bread when desired) wines available and the places from which we purchase them locally...

Vino has been a part of our personal journey for years, from what we made and gifted to our wedding guests, to how our tastes have changed, to eventually building a unique cellaring space.

We'd love to hear from other metro beverage fans... We want wine lovers to Drink Better Wine in Better Places!

We see this page evolving a great deal over the coming years, if any of you find it useful enough to visit and read the reviews shared.

Noroc & Salud to you all!

2016 La Vieille Ferme (Perrin & Fils) Blanc
France> Vin de France
We couldn't tell this was wine. We did not recall being or feeling ill, so we did not know why we were drinking medicine. The garbage disposal smelled just a touch better for a short short time after we dumped this stuff into it...

OK, the beverage smelled like wine...

What it tasted like was another...

2012 Concha y Toro Shiraz Casillero del Diablo Reserva
Chile> Rapel Valley
We found it once. Drank & really liked it. It was bolder than the Carmenere from CyT; jammier than the Cab, and simply better than both. As a $10-$13 bottle, it rocked.

Would LOVE to have it for guests as an extremely friendly house wine, especially for our upcoming holiday parties, but darn it all, we cannot...

2012 Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon
USA> California> Napa Valley
Wow, what a yummy linger this blossom of a wine offers! We just now stopped tasting the finish from last night- OK, not that long, but Oh So Good! On the nose, it opens fresh, fruity, juicy, and earthy without making us think of dirt. It is a supremely balanced vin; nothing obtrusive stands out.

We had two...

2009 Brancaia Maremma Toscana Ilatraia
Italy> Tuscany> Maremma> Maremma Toscana
Open. Sip. Wait... This stuff just wows after an hour or so with air. The nose hints of earthy tones, leafy floors and such, we believe thats a direct result of the cab franc in the blend, but then...

It IS a blend, and the others take over, in a wonderfully rewarding way! The fruit rides in clean, smooth,...
